Equipnor – the nordic region’s leading trading house for defense and police – acquires SafeNor AS, a leading company in delivering and maintaining diving equipment in Norway.
Equipnor – a division in NFM Group – acquires SafeNor AS and strengthens its position as a leading supplier in Scandinavia of personal equipment and materiel for the defense, police, and security industry.
SafeNor AS delivers equipment and services to fire departments, military and police, and the oil and gas industry. Through the acquisition, Equipnor strengthens its capacity in the maritime sector, including delivery of materials and equipment and repair and maintenance.
– SafeNor is a well-run company with a solid product and service portfolio. With its core competence in the maritime sector, in addition to its capacity for service and maintenance of products and materials, SafeNor fits in well with our business operations, says Walter Øverland, Group CEO in NFM Group.
– With Equipnor on the owner side, we want a solid platform for further development and growth in the market we operate. Equipnor already has strong expertise in our products and services through several years of cooperation and has an extensive network of suppliers within several relevant product categories, says CEO and founder of SafeNor, Rune Andresen.
In the future, Equipnor also wants to take more responsibility for the product’s lifetime after delivery to the customer, which already constitutes much of SafeNor’s core business.
– We want maintenance and repair of the products we deliver to our customers to be a natural part of the long-term agreements we sign. In this way, we can extend the lifetime of the products and reduce wastage and climate footprint. SafeNor has a strong focus on just this, and we, therefore, look forward to developing our direction together, says the CEO of Equipnor AS, Geir Ruud.
SafeNor AS is a Norwegian-owned company and is a supplier of equipment and services for diving, fire service, defense, oil, and gas. The company is located in Horten and has nine employees. Turnover for 2020 was just over NOK 30 million. SafeNor AS continues its daily operations from its offices in Horten with Rune Andresen as general manager.
